More than simply a LEGO® class, the goal is to help children learn to think with biblical truth, grow in confidence and perseverance, and build a Christ-centered understanding of who they are.

Description

Building With Purpose:
LEGO® STEM & Creative Engineering (K–6)

This class is designed to be much more than a LEGO®building class. While students will participate in fun, hands-on STEM and engineering challenges using classic LEGO® bricks, the heart of this class is helping children grow in their understanding of who they are in Christ and learning to think with biblical truth.

Throughout the year, students will regularly hear, practice, discuss, and apply foundational truths from Scripture that help build a healthy, Christ-centered identity. Rather than focusing only on memorization, the goal is to help these truths move from head knowledge into the hearts and everyday thinking of the children.

Through consistent encouragement, class discussions, teamwork, problem-solving, and creative challenges, students will be reminded that:

  • they were intentionally created by God,
  • they have value and purpose,
  • they can persevere through challenges,
  • mistakes are opportunities to learn and grow,
  • and their identity is rooted in Christ and what He says is true about them, rather than performance or comparison.

Each class will include:

  • LEGO®-based STEM and engineering challenges
  • Creative problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Biblical character and identity development
  • Scripture-based encouragement and discussion
  • Teamwork and communication opportunities
  • A positive and uplifting classroom environment

Students will also have opportunities to present and explain their projects, helping build confidence, communication skills, leadership, and public speaking abilities.

Projects are hands-on and interactive, with some multi-week builds that allow students to improve designs, work collaboratively, and develop resilience through the engineering and building process.

This class is intentionally designed to engage a wide range of ages and abilities (Kindergarten–6th grade), allowing younger students to create and explore while older students are challenged to think critically, lead, innovate, and encourage others.

More than simply a LEGO® class, the goal is to help children learn to think with biblical truth, grow in confidence and perseverance, and build a Christ-centered understanding of who they are.
