Course Description:
In this class, we will study the elementary teachings listed in Hebrews 6:1–2.
These include the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith
toward God, and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the
resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
We will use Scripture to study each of these topics, using cross-references
and examining the original Hebrew and Greek words in the text. We will
answer the questions of who, what, when, where, why, and how for each
topic using only the Bible.
Learning what the Bible says about these elementary teachings gives us
understanding of how to live the Word of God in our lives as believers.
Hebrews 5:11–14 and Ephesians 4:11–16 give us insight into the importance
of learning these teachings and growing into spiritual maturity.
Course Length: 1st Semester
Day/Time: Monday 9:00 -10:00 am 5th-8th grade
Tuesday 9:00 -10:00 am 9th-12th grade
Cost: Free
Class Prerequisite: This class is designed for those who truly desire to
understand what the Bible teaches. Together, we will dig deeply into
Scripture, and there will be homework.
Materials Teacher Will Provide: None
Materials Students Must Provide: A Bible. It is also recommended that students have
a phone or tablet to download the Literal Word Bible app. While this is not
required, it can be a helpful tool for studying during class.
